Swiss Post Solutions' North American expansion continues at a healthy pace. In the past year, we have launched new operations in Los Angeles, Washington DC, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Houston, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Menlo Park, and Calgary, thanks to the support of key clients. Most recently, we launched IT Help Desk operations in Philadelphia, Chicago, Minneapolis and New York for the shared services division of a major advertising agency Washington and Los Angeles continue to be key markets for us, and our account teams are actively spreading the word about Swiss Post Solutions:

On August 25, Swiss Post Solutions Site Managers celebrated their achievements at the Vanderbilt Suites in the Met Life Building during our Quarterly Site Manager Meeting & Tenure Awards.

The evening started with opening comments from Dan Moscatiello, CEO North America, who hit on the evening's theme with his first words to the Site Managers: "Thank You!"

"The efforts of our Site Managers in keeping our clients happy, providing exceptional service, and developing our staff are keys to our success," said Dan. "As part of the global Swiss Post organization, we have the support to bring new solutions to our clients while doing what we do best: investing in our people."

Division Vice Presidents Mike Mannix and Art Tatge followed Dan with a business update and shared good news. Despite the economic challenges faced by companies everywhere, SPS continued to show significant growth during the first half of 2009. Not only have we grown with the addition of new clients but, because of our unparalleled customer satisfaction, we have also been adding new services and headcount to our existing clients!

The highlight of the meeting was the presentation of tenure awards by Chief People Officer Russ Cusick. Over 50 site managers and corporate employees were recognized for three, five, seven and ten years of service with Swiss Post.

Site Managers also enjoyed getting to know Dan Moscatiello on a more personal level through a game of "CEO Jeopardy," which included questions on topics such as Dan's favorite band, his favorite sports teams and his first car.

Following the awards, Dan closed the meeting and remarked, "Since I've joined Swiss Post Solutions, I have been treated like family and it truly is an honor to be sharing our success with everyone who made it happen!"

A team of Swiss Post Solutions employees will join more than 8,000 volunteers for the Annual New York Cares Day on October 17. Volunteers will paint murals and classrooms, organize libraries, and brighten up playgrounds at more than 100 public schools, providing over $1 million worth of service to the New York City public school system.

"Active corporate citizenship is an integral part of the Swiss Post Solutions philosophy," said Russ Cusick, Chief People Officer. "New York Cares Day is a great way for our employees to give back to the community, and it is especially important this year as New York area schools struggle with budget cuts that are forcing them to cut or postpone revitalization and upkeep projects."

"Believe in yourself and you achieve anything." This is the philosophy embraced and embodied by Swiss Post Solutions Records Manager Miguel Cuadrado.

Miguel grew up in the New York foster care system, in an environment where he was constantly told that he would never amount to anything. Miguel believed otherwise, and after graduating from high school, he set out to prove himself. Unable to afford college, he entered the workforce, holding a variety of jobs until he joined a small law firm in their Office Services department. There, he discovered Records, and a passion was born.

President's Club Miguel pursued a career in Records while he and his wife began to raise a family. He still dreamed of getting a college education, and after the birth of their second son, he felt it was time to get his degree. According to Miguel, "I felt it was important not only for myself, but also to set an example for my sons, to show them what they can accomplish." He began taking night classes at Nassau Community College while working full-time and, after five challenging years balancing work, school and family, he graduated with a degree in Office Technology in May 2009.

Miguel joined Swiss Post Solutions as a Records Manager in the fall of 2008, and has been able to develop his leadership skills through our Site Manager Corporate Development Program. Onsite at his client location, he has focused on developing the skills of his staff and fostering teamwork, and the team's efforts were recognized with our Site of the Month award in April 2009. Miguel is also a member of our Best Practices Group which allows him to share his records knowledge with our operations team.

What advice does Miguel have for his fellow SPS employees? "Don't let anyone tell you that you can't accomplish something," said Miguel. "Work hard and never give up."
